Aisha Hinds is an American actor best known for playing roles in the TV shows The Shield and True Blood. Since her 2003 debut she has proven her range in acting providing outstanding performances on television shows like 9-1-1 Detroit 1--8-7 and Under the Dome. The role she played in Assault on Precinct 13 from 2005 was the first to attract her attention. However, it was her performance in the role of Fannie Lou (a women's activist for the rights of women) in the biographical All the Way film that made her famous as an actor. Hind has also been acknowledged for her performance in the role she was playing in the role of Harriet Tubman within WGN America's drama series set in the past called Underground. She currently stars on the procedural drama series 9-1-1 in the leading role of firefighter/paramedic Henrietta Hen Wilson. 20th Century Fox Television has renewed the series for a 3rd season. In the last few days, Hind wrapped filming for the Hollywood movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters which is scheduled to release mid-2019. Her father Krishnaraj died in March 2017 following a lengthy career as a scientist for the Indian Army. Vrinda, her mother is a domestic worker. Aditya Rao who works in merchant navy engineering, is her elder sibling. Bachchan's older brother and his mother co-produced Dil Ka Rishta. Bachchan went to Arya Vidya Mandir High School located in Mumbai which is where her family relocated. Jai Hind College in Mumbai was where she finished her secondary schooling in one year. After that, she was admitted to D.G. Ruparel College in Matunga where she was awarded a 99% mark score in the H.S.C. exams. She spent the first five years of her adolescence learning about classical music and dance. Her favorite topic was Zoology. Bachchan was an undergraduate student in architecture in 1994, when she was named Miss World. The model was ushered into the highest rung by winning the name. The lucrative work she did with PepsiCo Inc. & Vogue magazine along with her spokesmodel agreement in partnership with L'Oreal Paris were all rewarded in 2003. Two of the first films she made in her professional career were Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya as well as Iruvar. The two films challenged the traditional form that was prevalent in Bollywood films at the time and pushed Bachchan to the forefront of Bollywood's New Bollywood. Through her stunning portrayal of the jilted lover Paro in Devdas (2002) one of the most popular Bollywood film and one of the first films to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival Bachchan cemented her status as the Queen of Bollywood. Chokher bali (2003) was the next film she starred in that earned her acclaim. It's a thriller inspired by Rabindranath tagore's novel. In the that same year, she got chosen as the very first Indian actor on the Cannes Film Festival Jury. Bachchan made an appearance as a character in Gurinder Chadha's Bride and Prejudice a musical and dance version of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Her star-power and elegance made her the perfect choice for the first major English-language film. After releasing Provoked the a True Story in English, she returned to Bollywood and appeared in the big-budget Dhoom: 2 (2007). Abhishek Bachchan married her in April 2007. He's both a Bollywood celebrity and regular co-star.
