Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. She was also a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spikey blonde hair and pumped up personality reveals easy to learn techniques and eliminates intimidation of restaurants dishes in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. She has also studied Italy's culinary tradition and the culture of Italy, as well as the landscape. Burrell, who grew up living in New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled after earning an English diploma and Communications diploma from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful learning experience. I just couldn't get enough pleasure from the experience. Following graduation, Chef Burrell lived in Italy for a whole year taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin star restaurant) located in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater appreciation of Italian culinary and cultural traditions during her stay in Italy, which has influenced her cooking style. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing challenges. Burrell is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador which promotes awareness of juvenile diabetes. She frequently travels around the country in her role as a mentor as well as a guest speaker where she discusses her work and passion for cooking. Anne has stated during her career in the kitchen that she feels so fortunate to have the opportunity to communicate with people what is essential to her.
