Kolber is a native of Pennsylvania who graduated with a doctorate in master's studies at The University of Miami. Her professional career began as the Video Coordinator at CBS Sports, New York City. She won a Sports Emmy in Miami during her tenure at WTVJ-TV. Her other jobs included WPLG-TV Miami & WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. The station hired her as anchor on ESPN2 from 1993. She worked at ESPN2 from 1993 to 1999 before moving on to Fox Sports. Then she returned to ESPN hosting in 1999.
