Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in the style that is his own. Her career path has taken her across Broadway to European festivals and clubs up to at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue an interest in music, singing and playing the piano at church. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music within the Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice,"Stalk You a House 12, was released only in Japan. The song has been remixed many times, and has become a staple of her live shows. She has also contributed her singing on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. in 2005 Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in his stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her voice and her music, invited Sunshine to sing in the Dreamgirls production during the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to perform as part of President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
